AUGUST

Another busy stitching month--

still working on some basket blocks--

Sunday's is still doing some embroidery and winding floss

Also did this embroidery for the center of the Silver Linning quilt top-

Got the Snowflake mystery quilt top all finished--

and the Silver Lining top is finished--

This month's dirty dozen was #3 and that was the apron blocks--

so here is how I finished them--

Got the flower quilt all hand quilted--this was July's dirty dozen #5-felt good to get this one done--I just am not sure I like it????

This months bird color--block--bird was the Flamingo--

(sent all these blocks to Anne for her birthday--for her to use in some of her quilts)

Some more baby sweaters are done--

This months color was purple--

I also did this Lady block--

I got all 9 of these Christmas blocks hand pieced--

Now all the floss and threads have been wound on cards--853 cards total--big job, but I love it done this way --way worth the effort and expense!!

Apron quilt is now all hand quilted--

A new block pattern I got from the Quilter's Club newsletter-uses a charm pack--really like this block--

This is my newest applique project each afternoon--Butterflies!!

And I got more work done on this fans--and now have the basket part pattern all made--just need to buy some background and some browns for the baskets--

And this is where I am now on the Halloween Mouse counted cross stitching!!

We also finished the Jolly Bar quilt--I have the rows sewn together--and the strips for the lattice between the rows and what I want to use for the borders--only--it will be nearly 60" square when done and that is large for me to hand quilt--so am trying to decide if I want to quilt it in rows instead of a whole quilt???

JULY (start)

Summer weather is here--
hot and humid with rain in the afternoons--

starting a couple new sew alongs--
this one is called Jolly Bar--
but I am using a layer cake for my blocks--

First two --spinning spools and crows feet--

flying geese--

Heart blocks--

due north blocks

and I have decided to join in the Dirty Dozen for this next year--
here is my 'pile' of that dozen to do--
this months number is #5
and just happens to be the one on top--the flower blocks--

Got the window block all finished into a pillow--cute--

Here is the blocks for #5--this one was very challenging to finish off the top--
but finally this is the top finished--

I finally got the center part done--
had to go to actual wool squares for the colors--at 1 1/2" blocks-
and a cotton black--

and I used the black and the grey 2 1/2" blocks that I had cut wrong for inside
the quilt and used them on the border as I did not have enough of the wool colors
to do the outside borders too--

Even got it basted--

and have gotten half of the hand quilting finished on it--

finally got this pair of socks knitted--took along time--
but also started a new pair--

spent a day getting lots of embroidery projects ready to stitch--

and more Silver lining blocks done--

And joined a Christmas in July stitch along--

I ended up taking a couple days off over the week end and first of the next week--
as I was having some chemical reactions to the new flooring they put down in the
apt next to me--couldn't think at all and the supplies had come in for me to finally do
my cosmos thread the right way so-
I sat and wound and wound thread--onto little cardboards--
but oh it looks so nice--
